Apple iPhone grabbed 69% share of U.S. smartphone traffic in May 2009

AdMob serves ads for more than 7,000 mobile Web sites and 2,500 applications around the world. AdMob stores and analyzes the data from every ad request, impression, and click and uses this to optimize ad matching in the network. This monthly report offers a snapshot of the data to provide insight into trends in the mobile ecosystem.

Five days after its launch, the iPhone OS 3.0 represented 44% of iPhone ad requests. In contrast, only 1% of iPod touch requests came from devices running the iPhone OS 3.0.

Worldwide, Apple iPhone’s share of smartphone traffic hit 49% in May 2009, up from 43% in April 2009:

These numbers, of course, predate the release of Apple’s iPhone 3G S which was released on June 19, 2009.

If you have an iPhone 3G or first generation iPhone running OS 3.0 and is jalbreaked you can now unlock the iPhone by downloading Ulrasn0w on Cydia or Icy, you dont have to jailbreack the iPhone again, just follow these instructions:

Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
Run Cydia or Icy
Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
Reboot your iPhone 3G
T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w

The iPhone 3.0 Firmware will be released today 17 of July, for those who like to jailbreak their phone will be happy to know that the Dev Team have already a solution for Jailbreak and Unlock the software 3.0 – Ultrasnow will unlock iPhone 3G running firmware 3.0. This is a video demo of ultrasnow, a software unlock for the iPhone 3G running firmware 3.0. Unlocking your iPhone lets you use the iPhone with other carriers like T-Mobile in the US. (This does not work for Verizon) The plan for release is this Friday through Cydia.

According to an article from Wired, (Actually, Wired is reporting on AppleiPhoneApps’ rumor, an insider from Apple’s hardware team has leaked the next generation iPhone specs, along with a speculated release date of July 17. Many of these specs leaked go along with the screenshots of things we’ve seen lately, including the digital compass, video recorder and video editing. The full list of possible specs include:
